Karen passed at the age of 43, much too young for one so beautiful and kind. She was a strong, gentle, thoughtful, caring soul. Her sincerity, her generosity, and her patience held me in awe and captured my heart. If we were not soul mates before we met, we most certainly are now.

Karen was my breath, and she became my reason for being. She saved my life, and she made it look easy. I tried to save hers, but I could not. She fought cancer like a champion, with strength, resolution and grace. I am humbled by the woman I grew to love more than life itself. I shall miss her badly for the remainder of my life, until my Spirit is once again magnified by her presence.

Karen's Prayer

Father, take me gently to that sacred, peaceful place

Where the sun will glow within my heart and shine upon my face

Where love is more than Hallmark cards sent on a special day

And loyalty’s no sacrifice too far out of the way

Where those I love will shower me with joy and lasting peace

And all the strife of mortal life will finally be released

Where all will see within my heart, much to their great surprise

A beauty that surpasses any seen by naked eyes

Where pain and panic are destroyed, and broken hearts made new

In place of sadness laughter rings as music unto You

Father, give me greater life than that I left behind

Where everyone will clearly see my heart, my soul, my mind

And love me for the tenderness I’ve carried in my heart

And know the love I’ve offered them was endless from the start

Help the ones I’ve left behind to know my heart was pure

And that my love and loyalty forever will endure.
